Dear Mom, by |
Dear Mom, Hello! How are you doing. I'm fine. Thank you for sending me coats and a lot of my favorite fruits. When I heard you were sewing coats for me at night over the phone, I was too happy to say "Thanks." Here in Hadano, it is getting colder every day, but my coats always warm me. Well, it is almost half a year since I began to live by myself. Time seems to fly fast, doesn't it? I haven't talked with you recently, and maybe you are waiting for my phone. but I know you will ask me "Are you fine? Is everything going OK? Are you studying hard?" I'm tired of these questions. I'm doing OK but I want to talk about something different with you now, though I won't tell you everything. I don't like your getting nervous so easily. If I lived with you, you were able to know everything about me without my telling. I wonder whether this is mother's power. I suppose I cannot have secrets even though I'm not with you. As my mother, I respect you. But as a woman, I think you should enjoy more because you are so wise! You say you are content with your life, but I don't think so. You laugh about what i am saying, but you can have a dream. It's not too late. It is almost your birthday and you will be 41 years old. I'll go back in about two more weeks. Be careful not to catch a cold. I'm looking forward to greeting the New Year together! Thanks for the new coats again. I am looking forward to seeing you on December 25th. Love, R. |
