My mother is a perfect woman

My mother is a perfect woman. She was an excellent student in her youth. She is a wise, beautiful, healthy, steady, well-bred woman. My mother never praised me for my grade even if it improved. When they did improve, she would say, "You are not the best in class. I was always the best." And my relatives and the people around me paid me few compliments. I thought this was because everybody expected me to have inherited the beauty from my mother. Then I felt sorry for myself and wished my mother wasn't such an excellent woman. I thought I was quite opposite to her.

However, I have grown up to know about her more. I've noticed that my mother and I have some similar points in our personality. The first point is, we like to sing songs. We sometimes go to karaoke together. Not going to karaoke, we sing songs everyday while doing housework, walking down the street. But it's a similar point too that we cannot sing so well. The second point is, we are not good at cleaning rooms and cooking. But she insists that her ability of housework is better than mine. And she might be angry if she finds me saying so. Besides we are country girls. Both of us were born and grew up in Tochigi prefecture. But I think she grew up in a much more rural region than I, because she said she had never drunk a coke until she went to Tokyo to attend a university. There were no stores in her town. So a big truck carrying food and daily necessities came to her house to sell them to her family and the neighborhood in the garden.

The older I grow, the more friendly we become. But she is often disgusted with my laziness. I cannot improve it so easily. Now I am trying to become such an excellent woman as my mother!
