I have been asleep
until today when she swept into my dreams
like an afternoon shower and wet my eyes with her rain.
it was cool -- running-brook sounds -- and her scent of splash.
I have been adrift
until today when she appeared on my horizon
like an island of tropical meaning and fed me visions of mist.
it was intoxicating -- drunken-pool images -- and her laughing
waves.
I have been alone
until today when she took my soul by the hand
like a young cloud eager to float me across her skies.
it was pillowy -- cream-spun thoughts -- and her languid softhood.
I have been alive
until today when she claimed my future pulse
like an artery full of paradise from heart-rivers.
it was rhythm -- blood-born music -- and her mercury dance, silvery.
